Department of Employment Announcement

Subject: Public Relations regarding the Extension of the Operating Period for the Certificate of Identity (CI) Issuance Centers and Mobile Units of the Myanmar Authorities

As per the Cabinet resolution dated April 1, 2568, approving the establishment of Certificate of Identity (CI) issuance centers by the Myanmar authorities in Thailand, to facilitate Myanmar nationals working in Thailand to receive Certificate of Identity (CI) documents correctly according to the process.

The Department of Employment issued an announcement, Subject: Public Relations regarding the Operations of the Certificate of Identity (CI) Issuance Centers and Mobile Units of the Myanmar Authorities, dated February 16, B.E. 2569, stating that the Myanmar authorities had informed through diplomatic channels regarding the opening and operation of 4 Certificate of Identity (CI) issuance centers in Samut Sakhon Province, Samut Prakan Province, Surat Thani Province, and Chiang Mai Province, along with 1 Mobile Unit in Chonburi Province, to issue identity documents to Myanmar migrant workers with irregular status, as per the Cabinet resolution dated September 24, 2567. The Certificate of Identity (CI) issuance centers and Mobile Units would commence operations from February 17, 2569 onwards. However, the Department of Employment issued an announcement, Subject: Public Relations regarding the Operations of the Certificate of Identity (CI) Issuance Centers and Mobile Units of the Myanmar Authorities, dated February 23, B.E. 2569, informing that the operations of the Certificate of Identity (CI) issuance centers and Mobile Units of the Myanmar authorities would conclude on May 17, 2569.

To ensure that Myanmar migrant workers currently undergoing processing receive complete documents, and for the smooth operation of the centers, and for Myanmar nationals working in Thailand to receive Certificate of Identity (CI) documents comprehensively, the Department of Employment therefore extends the operating period of the Certificate of Identity (CI) issuance centers and Mobile Units of the Myanmar authorities from the original end date of May 17, 2569 to August 17, 2569.
