BT.62 Temporary Work Permit: Latest Status and Scams to Watch Out For

Warning: No one can “process BT.62” for you

If someone offers to process BT.62 for you for a fee — that is a scam The Department of Employment specifically warns employers, establishments, and migrant workers not to fall victim

The reason is simple: BT.62 is not a document that anyone can process on your behalf Once the registrar approves it in the system, employers and migrant workers can print it themselves from the e-WorkPermit system via their own user account and there are no additional fees whatsoever

Latest Status: Still Awaiting Agreement on Usage Conditions

The Department of Employment announced the use of the temporary work permit (BT.62) starting 1 July 2569 Subsequently, the Bureau of Foreign Workers Administration clarified that it is currently awaiting agreement on usage conditions to ensure appropriate operations and reduce impacts on employers, establishments, and migrant workers who have been granted a work permit correctly

What employers should do during this time: Use BT.62 according to the duration and conditions specified by the Department of Employment, and do not plan work assuming this document can replace the actual work permit in all cases The destination agency or bank may not yet accept this document; inquire with the destination before taking your employee there

What is BT.62 for?

BT.62 was created to alleviate the impact of delays in work permit production which affects both transactions and business operations of employers, establishments, as well as migrant workers who have been granted a work permit correctly

What remains unchanged: migrant workers who have been granted a work permit must still undergo the biometrics data collection process and proceed with work permit production according to normal procedures — BT.62 does not replace this step and does not exempt you from your appointment

Steps to Print Temporary Work Permit from e-WorkPermit

1. The registrar approves the application in the system
2. Log in to the e-WorkPermit system with the employer's or the migrant worker's own user account
3. Print out the temporary work permit (BT.62)
4. It can be used according to the duration and conditions specified by the Department of Employment
